“Would you give a guy a foot massage?” Vincent Vega, Pulp Fiction
I thought the best way to resurrect this blog was with a quick recap. In January, I set myself the challenge of running every day in 2018. This was going splendidly well. In fact, it was going too well. I went from hating treadmills to touching them lovingly. In February though life, as it always does, delivered a huge reality punch to the groin section. My wife was admitted to hospital for the week with mystery stomach pains which thankfully turned out to be nothing massively serious. Although Gluten is now off the menu in Casa Vasey. The running, quite rightly, had to take a break.
The seeds had been planted though. Running every day was no longer a chore, the treadmill was actually making me fitter and – say it quietly – I appeared to be getting faster. Since Glutengate, I’ve continued to run pretty much every day, competed in a 10k race and a Half Marathon (posts on these to follow at a later date, lucky you) and hit a few PBs that weren’t even in the ball park 5 months ago.
So, Running every day (ish) is back on.
